I never would have thought that one day I would have a jewelry shop. It all started in the spring of 2014. One evening in May 2014 I was thinking about my mom who passed away in January 2011. In my mind I asked her “Mom, what am I going to do when I retire (which is still many years away)? I’m going to be so bored.” Shortly thereafter I fell asleep. That evening I dreamt about making fashion jewelry. The next two nights I dreamt about how to market and distribute the fashion jewelry. Well, after dreaming about a fashion jewelry business three nights in a row, I decided to “follow my dreams.” I am an accountant by profession, a graduate of the University of Southern California, and have never envisioned making jewelry before. The last time I worked on artistic projects was back in grade school. I do remember the fun I had making those beautiful beaded art works. So I decided to take jewelry making classes in the summer of 2014 and by December that year RockNStyle V Jewelry was born.
After studying different methods of making jewelries, I fell in love with the Kumihimo technique, an ancient Japanese form of braiding, and decided to specialize in Kumihimo necklaces. I wanted to create necklaces that make a fashion statement. I designed them to be versatile – they can be worn with casual or dressy outfits and one necklace can be worn with several color schemes. I also believe that jewelry accessories need not dig a hole in our pockets so I designed my necklaces so that they can be worn with gold or silver earrings and not require a matching set of earrings. I devote a lot of time in designing each Kumihimo necklace as well as in choosing and buying the quality materials I use. Great attention is paid to every detail and I make sure each necklace passes the highest quality standard I demand of my own jewelries.
I hope you like the necklaces in my collection as much as I enjoyed making them and I really appreciate you visiting my shop.
